Summary: SecUnit isn't bothered by humans taking intoxicants, okay? It just doesn't want to be around them, while they're intoxicated, if it doesn't have to be.





My humans were having a stupid party and sent me an invite.


I had less than zero interest in going, so I didn’t read the invite. Then Ratthi messaged me in the feed and told me about it. He said it was a “watch party” for a serial I thought looked good.


I still didn’t want to go. I knew humans often took intoxicants at parties, including my humans. It’s not like that bothered me, I just didn’t want anything to do with it if I didn’t have to. Which I didn’t. So I wouldn’t.


Ratthi added since he was hosting, he had told everyone this party was intoxicant-free. And he didn’t say it was for me, but I knew it had to be. All of my humans sometimes took intoxicants, especially at social events.


So I said sure. Then I took a minute to have an emotion in private.

I wasn't sure I'd write another drabble for the event, but a discussion in the New Tideland Discord got me thinking about the subject of this one, and who among SecUnit's humans might notice, and why that person is tagged "my human friend". This would likely take place sometime not very long after Exit Strategy.

Anyways I took a look at all the prompts for the drabble event, and one of the prompts for December 31st stuck out to me as appropriate for my concept: Intoxicants. I liked the idea so much I needed a whole 50 additional words to express myself in! Or, er, SecUnit needed those 50 extra words. :3
